The Matthew Smith-trained Irish Poseidon was well supported in the opener at Dundalk to repeat his course and distance win from last month and got home in a tight finish.
Sam Ewing took 7lb off the German-import again, in the mile-and-a-half handicap, and produced his mount to fight it out with Dashing Diamond a furlong-and-a-half from home.
There was little between the pair in the closing stages with the 15/8 favourite (4/1 in morning) edging the verdict by a neck at the line.
The four-year-old was making his third start for Smith and sported cheek-pieces for the first time this afternoon.
“He's very tough and that's two on the bounce now,” said Ewing.
“He's a nice horse and was well bought by Matthew. He always just does enough, he's a tricky customer, but hopefully he can progress.”
