Portrade springs 40/1 surprise
Portrade gets over the last in a fashion under Dave Crosse

We had twelve and twenty to one chances scoring earlier on the programme but they were topped off by 40/1 outsider Portrade under English-based Tipperary jockey Dave Crosse in the concluding irishmirror.ie Handicap Hurdle at Bellewstown.
Equipped with a first time tongue-strap the George Stanley (his first track winner since May 2010) trained Portrade held on from the favourite, Quarton by three parts of a length.
Stable representative Joe Smith said: "That wasn't a surprise to us. He ran very well the first day in Kilbeggan.
"We were expecting him to run well the last day but he unseated.
"George couldn't be here because of the very sad passing of a neighbour so it's very emotional to win." (MG & EM)
