Polar Present and Donagh Meyler are clear at the last

Polar Present gained ample compensation for a narrow defeat at Ballinrobe last month when taking the featured AD Test Centre & Auto Garage Jack Duggan Memorial Handicap Hurdle at Gowran Park.
The Presenting mare was just denied in the McHale Coranna Handicap Hurdle at the western venue but the extra half-mile here suited her ideally.
Donagh Meyler was again aboard the 5/1 chance who was prominent throughout in this three-mile test.
She took control before the straight, and stayed on strongly to beat Sir Jack Yeats by nine lengths, with Courtncatcher another two lengths adrift in third.
Winning trainer Seamus Fahey said, “We felt that she had improved from the last day, and she did a good bit of work during the week. At the same time it was nice to see plenty of non-runners in the race.
“We were planning to come back here in September for a race that carries some black type. Three miles is her trip, although I wouldn’t run her on ground as quick as that again.”
