Pipers Blaze wins for Codd/Byrne

Cheltenham winning amateur jockey Jamie Codd partnered Pipers Blaze to win the Liam O'Connor Show (QR) Handicap Hurdle for Wexford trainer Lar Byrne.

The son of Taipan moved through to lead before the second last flight, eventually staying on well under a well-judged Codd ride, to win by five lengths.

Afterwards Byrne stated “Pipers Blaze has been a good servant but has broken down twicee. It has been a long road with him and he'll go for another handicap again next.”
