Perfect night for Whelan as he makes it 2 from 2
Plum Perfect and Ronan Whelan

Donagh O’Connor doubled up in the previous heat and Ronan Whelan registered a brace himself tonight at Dundalk on Plum Perfect (5/4 favourite) in the Floodlit Fridays Continue At Dundalk Stadium Maiden. The Alpha Man (12s into 5s) ran well on his debut in second, but Plum Perfect was convincing in achieving a three length success.
At odds of 100/1 Gormanstown ran a huge race to finish two and a half lengths back in third.
Tracey Collins’ Plum Perfect had been placed second twice previously in an eight race career.
“She deserved that as she had been very consistent,” said Collins.
“It was either go here for the maiden or to the handicap and she's not very big so we decided to stay to the maiden.
“She's got a beautiful pedigree as her grand-dam is Chelsea Rose, she's got a good page so she's got that going forward for her.
“We'll have a look now and see, she's not overly big so we'll have to place her races wherever we go. I'm delighted with her.”
Ronan Whelan’s previous winner was Kerandi for Michael Halford.
