The Pat Flynn trained Mademoiselle Penny survived a stewards’ enquiry before winning the Fermoy Apprentice Handicap at Cork today, scoring a head win under jockey Robbie Downey.
The daughter of Lawman edged left briefly inside the final furlong and while in the end she held on for a head win over Alcander there was minimal interference and the Stewards later left the result stand.
Flynn was understandably anxious in the minutes before the result was confirmed but did mention his winner would “go for something similar next.”
