Oscar Hill slaughters the opposition

The term ridiculously easy could neatly be applied to the success of the Paul Carberry-ridden Oscar Hill in the Roadhouse Pub Novice Handicap Hurdle at Downpatrick.
He's not straight-forward but he didn't need to exert himself in the slightest from the front here. From some way out it was apparent that the Oscar six-year-old was in full control and he crossed the line thirty one lengths in front of Mylerstown A bit of a plunge on Tullymackan before racing, went badly astray and he came home last as if something was amiss.
Successful trainer Gordon Elliott said of the Hearty Lions Syndicate-owned winner: "It was a bit of a bike race. Paul said he was worried coming down the hill that he might have another circuit to go, he was that far in front.
"It's great for the owners as he's a tricky horse." (GC & EM)
