Conor Orr came in for a winning spare on Gallyhill in the beginners' chase at Down Royal.
Sam Ewing was booked for the ride but took a fall from Where It All Began in the preceding race.
Gallyhill, the 10/3 favourite, made good headway to dispute the lead at the third last in this extended 2m3f assignment.
He was headed after the next but got back on terms by the last and stayed on best on the run-in to beat gambled-on Sholsang (33/1 - 18/1) by half a length. Turnpike Trip was another couple of lengths back in third at an easy-to-back 9/2.
Gordon Elliott said: "We are delighted with that, he is a galloper and a big chaser. I'd imagine he will go on his holidays.
"It would be nice to get another one (to get to 2000 winners in Ireland and Britain)."
