Oor Jock scores for Weld
There was an upset in the Stallion Farms EBF Race when Oor Jock from the Dermot Weld stable over-turned the even money favourite Purple Glow
Pat Smullen who took the riding honours made all aboard the son of Shamardai and the pair kicked clear inside the final furlong to record and length and three parts win over Eastern Light
Winning trainer Weld said afterwards: “He did it well, he worked very well the other morning and showed a lot of pace.”
“He has progressed nicely from Gowran Park where Pat [Smullen] said he just didn’t get home.”
“I’ll speak with the owners but I think he’s a real Windsor Stakes horse, he’s entitled to take his chance in it.”
