One-two for owner JP McManus
Carrigmartin partnered by Slippers Madden led home a one two for owner JP McManus in the two mile handicap chase at Punchestown when beating Wise Old Owl by three lengths.
The Edward Harty trained six-year-old was backed down to 7/2 co-favouritism from an opening show of 5/1 and forged clear from the last to scoop almost 15,000 euro prize money.
“They went a good clip and that suited him,” trainer Edward Harty said.
“He stayed at it well. His jumping is what really made the difference and he was brilliant down the back.
“He is probably due a bit of a break now.”
Ex-British trained Predateur stayed on late to grab third place at 25/1 on his first run for Jimmy Lambe.
