- One small step for Freedom
One small step for Freedom
The Jessica Harrington trained Steps To Freedom had no trouble making a winning debut over hurdles at Fairyhouse today, easily justifying 2/7 favouritism to win on the bridle, under Robbie Power.
Steps To Freedom moved to head Leceile after the second last flight before sauntered clear on the run-in for an easy win.
Afterwards Harrington said “Steps To Freedom couldn’t do any more than that - he was super and jumped really well.
“He’ll probably head to Tipperary for a novice hurdle on Sunday week next if the ground isn’t too soft. The ground today was perfect for him and the faster they’ll go in races, the better he’ll be. We’ll play it by ear but we might see how he gets on with soft ground eventually, as he is a stronger horse now.”
