After five placed efforts from ten previous outings over flights, the 2/1 favourite One For Joe got his turn in the Dawn Omega Milk Maiden Hurdle.
The Arctic Cosmos 6-year-old led before three out and wasn’t troubled from that point, coming home seven lengths in front of market rival Rosa Gloriosa (9/4).
The winner had gone very close at Down Royal last month before finishing fourth over three miles at Wexford on his most recent start.
It was a fourth winner this month for Cathal Byrnes, whose father Charles commented: “He was a bit disappointing in Wexford the last day and seemed to jump better today.
“It’s a good syndicate from Listowel who have been with us a long time. They will definitely want him to run at the Festival in Listowel.
“He’ll tip away in handicaps and has a bit of size so he could jump a fence in time.”
