Ol Man Dingle (6/1) followed up his Clonmel maiden win when landing the Kehoe Farming Rated Novice Hurdle under Ricky Doyle.

The Brian Caherty-owned five-year-old improved to race close to the pace heading out on the final circuit and led on the approach to the straight. Pursued by Tonaghneave Well after the second-last, he flew the last and held that rival's challenge by half-a-length.

Trainer Eoin Griffin said: "It's nice to back up his last run. The ground was a bit of an unknown coming here today. I had his previous race and this one mapped out for a quite a while and I was hoping coming here that the ground would be a bit softer.

"He has been campaigned over further and I just thought two miles on a stiff track, on a bit softer ground, would suit him. The pace was a bit muddling and he seems versatile enough when it comes to trip.

"We will see where we go from here. He has been on the go a while and I'll probably give him a small little break now. I could bring him back for a race at Leopardstown over Christmas, there is a novice handicap there that he could run in. We'll let him creep away and see where he brings us.

"This is Brian's first horse with me, he is from Newtownhamilton and I'm delighted for him. He is a nice horse to look forward to. It's great for Ricky as well, he is having a great few days."
