Lar Butler gained some quick compensation for the narrow defeat of his stablestar Trafford Lad just half-an-hour earlier when Odonimee made all in the two miles beginners chase.
The 11/1 chance didn't go unnoticed in the betting ring and proceeded to run her rivals ragged under Sean Flanagan, recording his first winner since returning from a spell in Britain last year.
She galloped on strongly in the straight to beat 7/4 favourite Ballyburke by 18 lengths and, with very few getting involved, Whatdoyousay (40/1) finishing a further 18 lengths back in third.
Butler said, “She jumps very well. You don’t need to make the running on her but she needs to be up there in a strongly run two miles.
“We’ll probably look for a mares novice now. She’s consistent and tough, and very useful in her own grade.”
