David Wachman recorded his first winner on the turf this season, as his Hidden Oasis claimed the Irish Examiner Handicap.
Wachman, who hit the bar yesterday with Most Beautiful, lasted visited the winners enclosure when Posing won for him at Dundalk on April 1st.
Hidden Oasis, who was without a win since 2013, finished fourth on his last two starts, and having started at 6/1 last night, he opened on-course at just 5's, before going off the 4/1 joint-favourite.
Settled in third by Wayne Lordan, the JP McManus owned five-year-old dropped to fourth with three furlongs to race.
He was pushed along to challenge on the outer with over a furlong to go, and he was ridden to lead in the closing stages, going on to score by three parts of a length. Could Should Would (12's this morning and from 8's to 7's on-course) finished second under Chris Hayes for Andy Oliver, while Credit The Giver (4/1jfav) was two and a half lengths back in third under Donnacha O'Brien for his brother Joseph.
David Wachman said afterwards: "Wayne gave him a good ride and he'll go for a similar type handicap next. It's nice to get him back that's for sure."
