Jockey Eddie O'Connell recorded his third career treble at Tramore today, completing the feat on Molinero in the Tramore Racecourse Supporters Club Handicap Chase and thereby providing the gelding's trainer Jimmy Finn with a double of his own.
O'Connell, who earlier steered The Bold Becky and Finn's Coldstonesober to win, stated “that's my third treble but my first as a fully-fledged professional which is great to get. My previous two trebles were as a seven pounds claimer at Ballinrobe and Downpatrick.”
He added “it wasn't the plan to make the running (on Molinero, recording his first racecourse win ion his 42nd start) but he popped out, jumped well and travelled well.
“Coming here today I'd have been happy if one or two had been placed never mind having a winner and it's fantastic to ride a treble.”
