O'Brien wins opener at the Curagh
Aidan O'Brien took the opening race on Oak's day at The Curragh when Black Quartz came home in front in the Whitney Moore EBF (C&G) Maiden under Johnny Murtagh in the colours of Derrick Smith.
O'Brien said afterwards, "The ground is very soft out there and Johnny said he idled a bit in front. He should improve from every run and he's still a big baby."
Boylesports have introduced Black Quartz at 25/1 for the 2000 Guineas.
