O'Brien Wins Again at Leopardstown
A fortnight on from partnering his first winner on what was his second ride on Johann Zoffany, at this venue, Joseph O'Brien was again soon to the fore on Academy Blues in the Derrinstown Apprentice Handicap and after being clear from halfway he kept the 10/1 shot going well enough to see off First Symphony by two lengths.
Eoin Griffin trains this son of Fusaichi Pegasus for fellow Kilkenny man, Joe Comerford and the four-year-old was gaining his second success on the racecourse here.
Griffin said: "From a bad draw he gave him a decent enough ride. This horse has been disappointing but he always works really well at home. He bounces off that ground and we may go for another mile race at Fairyhouse next week."
