The Aidan O’Brien trained Nutcracker Suite gained a maiden success at Dundalk today winning the Download The Ladbrokes App Handicap on her ninth career start under the trainer’s daughter Ana O’Brien.
The daughter of Fastnet Rock was today visiting Co Louth for the first time since her debut run at the venue last August, when finished seventh to subsequent dual 1,000 Guineas winner Winter and today battled well for her maiden win, from a rating of 64, by beating Melisandre by a length.
Jockey Ana O’Brien later commented “the drop in trip suited as she didn't seem to see out a mile the last day. She seemed to enjoy the surface as well."
