Noras Fancy gained a deserved Listed success (after being placed in Grade 3 and Listed contests before) in the Kerry Group EBF Mares Novice Hurdle for the father and son team of Jimmy and Pat Mangan.
The daughter of Verney Bird (who won three including a Listed hurdle) reversed Clonmel form with the 13/8 favourite Dressedtothenines who beat her by six lengths at Clonmel last month.
Sent off at 7/1 the winner was prominent throughout and led before the second last. She shrugged off all challengers from there and stayed on best under pressure to score by two and three parts of a length.
14/1 shot Madam Bovary stayed on well to take second for Paul Townend and Willie Codd with Shadow Eile was a further head back in third at 9/2 for Shay Barry and Dot Love, while the aforementioned favourite finished a disappointing fifth.
Winning trainer Jimmy Mangan said afterwards: "The ground is the key to her. She will be left off when the ground dries out.
"She has had a long campaign and this is great. We have no plans for her now."
