There could be County Carlow-trained winners left right and centre over the coming days with the Willie Mullins battalion at Punchestown. Tonight at Navan handler Brian Nolan, based Barrowside at Killeshin, got on the score-sheet courtesy of his home-bred Keep Believing (9/1) in the Racing Again May 20th Handicap.
Despite going off a 25/1 chance Keep Believing didn't go un-backed at Cork 22 days ago and he ran very well then to finish second to Make It Hurrah on heavy ground.
On a livelier surface here Conor Hoban was again in the plate on the Zoffany gelding and he gained the upper hand on Roses Need Rain by a length and three parts.
Nolan was also leading up Keep Believing and he trains the three-year-old for his wife Annette.
It was left to Conor Hoban to comment: "He ran well the last day and fair do's to Brian as he's told me he bred him, owns him and trains him.
"I was a bit concerned about the quicker ground but he handled it well and is ground versatile."
S. Foley, rider of Mr Michael trained by Adrian Brendan Joyce, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung to the left during this race.
