Noble Birth continued a good afternoon at Fairyhouse for local trainer Gavin Cromwell when taking the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Rated Novice Chase.

The Nathaniel gelding, who has been in a number of yards and was successful previously for Gordon Elliott and Eric McNamara, only joined Cromwell in the past few months.

The 11/4 favourite made most of the running and asserted after two out for Keith Donoghue to beat Banjaxed by four and a quarter lengths with Verdant Place keeping on one paced a further four and three-quarter lengths back in third.

Cromwell said, “It was a good performance. He got a little bit of a freebie in front, I suppose, and he jumped great and stayed going well.

“I suppose we’re in the hands of the handicapper now and we’ll make a plan after that.

“I haven’t looked yet but maybe the novice handicap chase in Navan or something like that.”

The Danestown trainer was successful earlier on the card with Sixandahalf and The King Of Prs who led home a 1-2-3 for the yard in the featured Dan & Joan Moore Memorial Handicap Chase.
