Nobel gets first prize
Alfred Nobel opened his account at the third attempt when justifying odds-on support for Johnny Murtagh and Aidan O'Brien in the seven furlongs juvenile maiden.
The Danehill Dancer colt (evens-4/5fav) led over a furlong out, and was driven out by Murtagh to beat Montecchio by a length and a half. Bobbyscot was a length and three quarters further adrift in third, with Ballydoyle newcomer Boxing Day keeping on nicely in fourth.
'The ground was very bad the last day he ran at the Curragh but he's a nice horse and Johnny said he's going to improve as the season goes on,' said O'Brien.
