Nina shines on Outlaw
Nina Carberry deputised for brother Paul aboard Outlaw Kid in the Cashel Maiden Hurdle at Thurles and gave the winner an enterprising ride.
Kicking on before the third last she soon opened up a healthy lead on the Noel Meade-trained gelding.
The pack closed from the last but the 2/1f held on for a half-length victory over He'llberemembered
"I suppose we'll see what way the handicapper treats him. It was an ordinary race and he was getting 8lb," said Meade, who was saddling a double.
"He's not an easy ride and wasn't easy for young JP (Magnier) in bumpers as he was a bit free and ducked around.
"He had a wind op in the middle of last spring and towards the end of the spring needed the break."
