The Sean Aherne trained Nicole's Milan followed up his maiden racecourse win at Fairyhouse last month with another at the Meath venue today, winning the Next Racing Feb. 25th Novice Handicap Hurdle under jockey Davy Russell.
The son of Milan won his only point to point start last March and while initially well beaten in four hurdle starts, was today scoring a second handicap win in two months.
Following Nicole’s Milan’s battling success, jockey Russell stated “I go back a long way with Sean (Aherne, trainer) to my point-to-point days. It's tough on Phillip (Enright, injured his jaw in a recent fall) as he would have ridden him.
"He had to be very tough to win today.”
