Newmarket Story writes new chapter
Market leaders Galakina and Newmarket Story fought out the finish of the one mile four furlong handicap at Cork with the latter gaining the spoils by half a length.
This was another race with plenty in contention as four horses formed a line two hundred yards out. Teak who finished third at 4/1 and Lilly The Lioness were then left to contest minor honours one hundred yards out as the race hotted up.
Newmarket Story was returned at 7/2 for trainer Willie Austin and jockey Shane Foley.
Galakina was sent off 3/1 favourite for Jessica Harrington and Declan McDonogh. She was gambled on from a morning price of 7/1. Coppers stayed on for fourth position for trainer Hilary McLoughlin at 10/1, backed in from a morning offer of 20/1.
