Kris Weld son of top trainer Dermot Weld was in the winners enclosure this evening when his horse New Phase won The State Street Ireland (C & G) Maiden with Pat Smullen doing the steering.

Smullen's mount travelled throughout and improved to lead entering straight and stayed on well to win by a comfortable 5 lengths.
