Top sprinter Maarek's former trainer David Nagle ended a long wait for a winner at Navan today as his Talented Kid (25/1 in the morning into 11/1) landed a gamble to win the www.navanracecourse.ie Handicapm under Jack Kennedy.
The son of Teofilo went clear inside the final furlong for a three and a quarter lengths win over Aye Aye Skipper
Nagle, who won a Group 2 and two Group 3s with Maarek shortly before he won the Prix De l'Abbaye for trainer Bernard Lalor, was recording his first win since Maarek's success at Naas in April 2013.
Afterwards he stated "he got tired in the last half-furlong here the last day but was dropped a few pounds and this was a drop in grade. We also claimed the five pounds (Jack Kennedy's claim) off him.
"He's in again at Dundalk on Friday, and will run if he's okay after this."
"It's my birthday today so that's a nice present to get."
