Mythical powered clear in the closing stages to give the Magnier colours and sire Camelot a quick double in the Irish Stallions Farms EBF (C&G) Maiden at Gowran Park this afternoon.
Aidan O'Brien trained the winner this time and his son Donnacha O'Brien got one back having seen title rival Colin Keane strike in the opener on Even So
The 9/4 joint favourite was always to the fore and was asked to quicken passing the two pole in the mile contest.
He opened up in the closing stages to post a comprehensive eight-and-a-half length win over Mccabe Fellow market leader Taramansour could only finish fourth.
Mythical had been sixth on his debut at Leopardstown last month, finishing behind his market rival then.
“He is a beautiful horse and i think he has a lot of ability,” said the winning rider.
“He has just taken a while to learn and is still very raw learning his trade and I think he is a good horse.
"He was very raw first time and was very raw again today but was good enough to win."
