- Muskatsturm Does it Again for the Harleys
Muskatsturm Does it Again for the Harleys
Muskatsturm was in to be claimed for E20,000 (didn't find any takers) when getting home by a neck over a mile and a quarter at Sligo forty four days ago and returning to Cleveragh the nine-year-old made that price look quite reasonable when easily taking the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Handicap by eight lengths.
This former German multiple victor was a first winner for rider, Martin Harley's brother, Shaun, when scoring here back in June. The son of Lecroix was previously trained by Barney Curley with whom Shaun spent about six months over two years ago and he is one of a small string handled by Harley just outside Letterkenny.
He said, "I thought the handicapper was very harsh for giving him 18Ibs for winning the last day but he has been proved right. The horse has been in good form all week and he seems to like Sligo." (EM)
