Murtagh/O'Brien land opener at Leopardstown
The Aidan O’Brien trained Famous a full sister to Mastercraftsman, lost her maiden status at the third time of asking when running out a 3 ½ length victor of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden under Johnny Murtagh.
Murtagh was always prominent on the Danehill Dancer filly and the pair were travelling well when they took up a clear lead from 2f out, keeping on well to hold off the efforts of Rosa Muscosa from the Jim Bolger stable.
Ann Marie O’Brien wife of the winning trainer stated afterwards, “I think we will either comeback here for a Listed Race next week or wait for the Debutante Stakes next month and go for that instead.”
