Allure Of Illusion justified favouritism when coming home in front of the Cronin’s Foodstore Killarney Flat Race under a fine ride by Patrick Mullins.

Mullins moved through the field to join leaders from over a furlong out, the 6/4 favourite responded well to pressure to get up and lead close home and deny Maddoxtown by half a length.

Winning trainer Willie Mullins said afterwards: “He has been working well at home. He showed he has plenty of pace so we might try him on the flat or go for a winner’s bumper.”

“He is a half brother to Blackstairsmountain.”
