Mirazur West completed a quick short priced double for Willie Mullins when recording an easy success in the two-mile maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse.

The full-brother to Ferny Hollow went to post an 8/11 shot, to go one better over timber having chased home King Of Kingsfield on his hurdling debut at Leopardstown on St Stephen's Day.

He was keen early on with Mark Walsh but asserted after the second last to settle matters. The Westerner gelding was a touch untidy at the last, before going on to post an 11-length win.

50/1 shot Al Gasparo filled the runner-up spot with second favourite D B Cooper (10/11) pulling up injured on the turn for home.

Walsh said:- “He’s still learning and settled a lot better today than he did in Leopardstown.

“He’s well able to jump, there is no issue with that anyway, it’s just keeping him relaxed.

“I only found out when I pulled up that Jack (Kennedy’s) horse had gone wrong. It takes away from the race and is very unfortunate.”

Paddy Power and Betfair left the winner unchanged at 14/1 for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle.
