Mullins & Potts team up for 1st winner
Dr Machini was put in at 8/13 this morning with Crystal Earth (11/2) a runner at stage. The latter didn't run and Dr Machini ended up drifting all the way out to 6/4 but that didn't stop her from bolting up under Patrick Mullins (his 8th bumper winning ride in a row). It was an initial winner for Ann & Alan Potts with a Willie Mullins-trained runner.
Patrick made all on Dr Machini in the Follow Nina On Twitter (Mares) INH Flat Race at Fairyhouse and it was left to Caitlin Brook to throw down a challenge up the straight. However it was quickly apparent that there was only going to be one winner, Dr Machini crossing the line seven lengths to the good. Gambles on Strange Talk (7s this morning into 9/4) and Swansita (6s into 4s on track) proved well wide of the mark with the pair finishing sixth and second last respectively.
Mullins said: "Patrick suggested the mares bumper at Aintree for her. We think she'll be far better on better ground and she's improving all the time. She's got stronger since her last run (at Wexford in October)." (GC & EM)
