The Henry De Bromhead trained Mullinavat made a winning handicap chase debut at Wexford today, landing the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Handicap Chase under jockey Sean Flanagan.
The point to point winning son of Beneficial today also had his first start for De Bromhead and made a winning reappearance on his first start since November, when scoring a three and three part of a length win over Game Puppeteer
Flanagan later commented “he has done it very well - I had ridden him at Downpatrick a good while back and got a great feel off him early on, but there was some little thing there. I couldn't put my finger on it.
“He has changed trainer now and he has just come back a fresher horse, the break or whatever seems to have done him the world of good. He is absolutely super to jump and he has gone on and done it quite well. All he ever did was travel, but he has probably matured that little bit to see it out now."
