James Nash and Gavin Brouder teamed up to take the Kilmurrin Cove Mares Handicap Hurdle at Tramore with Moyode Gold
The seven-year-old mare obviously handles heavy ground well as her only previous win was also gained in testing conditions in a Fairyhouse maiden back in January.
The 15/2 chance was prominent throughout here and, having been joined at the last by the well-backed Nell’s Well, found a bit extra on the run-in under talented 7lb claimer Brouder to prevail by a length and a quarter.
The pair came close on the run-in but the winner was probably more sinned against than sinning and the places remained unaltered following a stewards enquiry. Little Token could make no impression on the principals after two out and finished 15 lengths back in third.
Nash said, "She is tough, stays well and wants that ground. She was a bit disappointing after winning her maiden hurdle, she had some jumping issues. She got a great ride there and hopefully is back on track now."
