Moymore Lad awarded bumper
The Mervyn Torrens trained Moymore Lad gained his win in the concluding John P. Wright Memorial Bumper at Fairyhouse today in the Stewards' Room, having passed the post a head behind Serein
Ridden by James Carroll, Moymore Lad was bumped by Serein over two furlongs out. Moymore Lad eventually got to with a head of the first-pass-the-post.
A Stewards' Enquiry was called and the result was subsequently amended.
Winning trainer Torrens later stated "we would have been disappointed if Moymore Lad had been beaten today and if he's not sold, he'll go for a Down Royal winners bumper in November. I bought him from John Bleahan and he was always bought with a sale in mind."
