The Jackie Bolger owned Morga made a winning hurdle debut in the Summer BBQ July 11th (Mares) Maiden Hurdle at Cork today, scoring for her new trainer Des McDonogh.
Ridden by Irish Grand National winning jockey Ben Dalton, daughter of Whipper quickened well after the last to eventually score a length and a half win over Ellie Mia
Afterwards McDonogh stated “she should come on a lot with more experience and is a great one to have. She should be well fit for the Punchestown Festival and we'll run her in a mares' novice hurdle there.”
When asked how long he had the the ex-Jim Bolger trained Flat winner in his care, McDonogh quipped “long enough not to do any harm!”
