Moore repeats New Year's win
Trainer Arthur Moore and owner Marcus Bereford repeated their 2002 feat of training the opening winner of the year when their Pass The Hat landed the curtain opener for 2012, the David Flynn Construction Maiden Hurdle at Tramore today.
Ridden by Barry Cash the son of Karinga Bay battled well to shake off American Flyer on the run-in to record a three lengths win.
Afterwards Moore said “I’m delighted for Pass The Hat’s owners (Marcus Beresford) as they are super owners and have been with me a long time – we won this race back in 2002 with their Marcus De Berlais.”
“Next season Pass The Hat will probably go chasing but we’ll go for a handicap hurdle next.”
