Moon eclipses rivals at 33/1
The opening Winter Festival 2010 Mares Maiden Hurdle at Fairyhouse today saw outsider Moon Over Moscow cause a 33/1 upset for trainer Tom Hogan and jockey John Cullen.
The daughter of Moscow Society was keen, tracking the leaders, and a little novice early on but responded well under a strong ride to eventually get her head in front close home, for a half length win over dead-heaters Milbig Lass and Burton Girl
Hogan was not present for the win but Cullen did briefly state “Moon Over Moscow was a bit green early on but loved that ground – there wasn’t a lot of pace on and she was on the bridle most of the way.”
