Model County men dominate landmark Wexford event
Appropriately enough the first ever two-year-old maiden at Wexford went to a horse trained by a native of the Model County as Aidan O'Brien's Luxurious beat her stable companion Poinsettia with another trainer of the purple and gold hue, Jim Bolger's Riochas an eye-catching third.
Joseph O'Brien led on the successful daughter of Galileo under two furlongs and she stretched on to comfortably justify 13/8 favouritism.
It was young O'Brien’s first winner at Wexford and stable representative Pat Keating said: "The filly is improving all the time and we're happy enough with her."
Luxurious, scoring here at the fourth attempt, was a popular winner with punters as she was supported from 5/2 this morning into 13/8.
