Mireya provides Harrisons with a lovely boost

She was getting weight all round and had plenty of experience on her side which Mireya put to good use to cause a 25/1 surprise in the concluding www.galwayraces.com INH Flat Race.
When favourite Who's Cross got the better of Gate Please and the gambled-on Softboiledsergeant (25/1 this morning into 11/2) in the straight, it looked like backers of the market-leader would be going home happy.
However not many had foreseen the manner in which Mireya would go into overdrive from over a furlong out. The victorious Celtic Swing mare came home strongly inside the last to get up and beat Who's Cross by a length and a half.
This was a lovely success for the County Laois-based mother and daughter team of Cathy and Kate Harrison – their first since Career Move at Cork in July 2011.
Kate Harrison said: "She's very game and really tries her heart out. The win is a good tonic for my Mum." (AM & EM)
