Tom Weekes
Mighty bumper winner
The Mighty Milan benefited from a drop down in class from two hot bumpers to easily win the concluding Marathon Travel City Centre Raceday Bus To Punchestown Bumper at Punchestown today.
The son of Milan, under Katie Walsh, was placed in two previous bumpers at Thurles and Leopardstown and made no mistake today, staying on strongly for an impressive 14 lengths win over 40/1 A New Day
Afterwards winning trainer T.J. Nagle said “he was entitled to win that and we’ll take it easy with him for a while now.
“He’ll probably have one more run in a bumper but he’s more of a jumper. Katie (Walsh) likes him, Tom Doyle rode him work recently and said he’d like nice ground but I’d say he’d go on any as it was horrible out there today.”
