McNamara has all the Aceys
Amateur jockey Robbie McNamara warmed up for the Cheltenham Festival with a winning ride on the Tom Nagle trained Acey in the Kevin Frost Memorial Bumper at Limerick today.
McNamara, who rides strong fancies Rite Of Passage and Elegant Concorde at Cheltenham, moved the son of Milan to the front three furlongs out, and gelding quickened in stylish fashion to defeat Minella Class by two lengths.
Afterwards an impressed Nagle mentioned “I was worried about the ground here as it looks heavy in places, but he did it very well. I think he could be a very good horse and is improving all the time. We may go to Punchestown for another bumper now.”
