Jockey Andrew McNamara recorded a double at Limerick today, completing the feat on the Colin Bowe trained Don Vincenzo in the Parkway Shopping Centre Maiden Hurdle. Badgerfort the 4/11 favourite faded quickly before the home turn and from the second last flight McNamara moved Don Vincenzo to the front. However, the winner was slowly away from that obstacle and in the end needed to dig deep to hold the challenge of Stilo Blue Native by three parts of a length.
Bowe was absent but McNamara, who won an earlier chace on Character Actor later stated "he (Don Vincenzo) jumped brilliant throughout the race and that's what won it for him. I left him along going to the last and while he didn't make a mistake, lost his hind legs on landing. He struggled to get going for a bit but then pulled out more."
