Andrew McNamara's The Dashing Doctor landed and a gamble (10/1 ? 6/1) when winning The Ballypatrick Handicap Chase under Mark Bolger carrying the colours of the trainer's wife Kathleen McNamara.

McNamara commented afterwards, "We're delighted with that, he'll be better over a longer trip. He's had leg troubles in the past. We'll probably run him at Limerick over the Christmas, we might also go for a three mile chase Saturday week at Navan or we might go for The Maloney Cup at Thurles. He's a great jumper and it was great to take the five pounds off him."
