McGuinness wins opener at the Curragh
Toufan Express followed up on his recent win at Listowel after he won the opening racing on this afternoon’s card at the Curragh, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Premier Handicap for trainer Adrian McGuinness.
Chris Hayes raced the son of Fram well off the pace and came with a challenge from over one furlong out and kept on well to lead close home.
Winning trainer McGuinness said afterwards: “I thought he was a one miler horse for the last four years. He’s been placed nine times from eleven starts before Listowel.”
“I didn’t realise he was a sprinter until now. He has had injuries in the past but the boys stayed with him and it has paid off today.”
“I don’t know where we’ll go next but he has his job done for the year now after that.”
