McDonoghs score with Orafinitis
There was a family success in the seven furlong handicap at Gowran Park as Declan McDonogh teamed up with his father Des to score on Orafinitis
The Oratorio filly swooped on the wide outside to land the spoils in the three-year-old contest.
McDonogh got his mount to the front inside the final furlong and she recorded a length success over El Toreros denying Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen a fourth straight success on the card.
It was a welcome victory for McDonogh senior, who was saddling his first winner since last June:-
"It's great to get one - we've had a long wait. She ran well on her debut last year but lost the plot afterwards and that surprised me.
"She's been going well at home and is a well-bred filly. She'll probably get a few pounds for that and we'll go for something similar.
"It's lovely ground out there and it seemed to make all the difference."
McDonogh trains the filly for his neighbour Dr John McGuinness. She is out of a half-sister to Group One winner Cavalryman.
