Maybe Just Maybe came with a strong late run to get up close home and beat her odds on stablemate Library in the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Leopardstown.
A slightly unlucky in running third on debut at this track last month, the Seamie Heffernan partnered Library was a warm order to go two places better.
Quickly into her stride from stalls, the Galileo filly disputed the early lead with second favourite, Remind Travelling much easier turning into the straight, the market leader went on and looked to have the race in safe keeping.
However, Wayne Lordan came with a perfectly timed challenge down the outside of the field to deliver Maybe Just Maybe inside the final 200 yards.
It was a much improved run from the 14/1 shot, who finished last of eight on her debut at this track recently.
Stable representative Chris Armstrong said:- “Aidan thought she would come on a lot from the first day. You could sort of put a line through her first run.
“She's been going nicely at home. She's by Lord Kanaloa who is a very good sire in Japan, he's a champion sprinter and multiple Group 1 winner.
“Wayne gave her a lovely ride, once the penny dropped with her. The second is a very nice filly as well.
“They will come on again. The winner will probably come back here for the Ingabelle Stakes or if not she'd have the Moyglare as an option.”
