Mate another for favourite backers at Wexford

Back Off Mate who began his racing life in County Wexford, when third in a Monksgrange point-to-point in March 2012, was back to the Model County to land his first victory. The son of Old Vic justified favouritism in the Casey Bros Supporting Their Local Track Beginners Chase.
David Casey 's mount wandered about a little before the last, having taken over from Getitogether – that one had been left in front by the fall of Teelin Star at the third last.
In the end the Marcus Beresford-owned and Arthur Moore-trained five-year-old got the job done by three and a quarter lengths.
Moore remarked: "He was due a win and he'll mix it now between the flat, hurdles and fences as he's very adaptable.
"He could even run in the November Handicap at Leopardstown next Sunday. If the top three came out of it he would get in, though he doesn't want the ground any worse than it was there." (DM & EM)
